Care Instructions

Cotton

To wash cotton use cool water, a gentle laundry detergent, and always avoid the dryer to prevent any shrinking or fading. Ideally wash as little as possible, and by hand is always the safest way to go.

Leather

Avoid wearing in inclement weather, however if your item does get wet let it fully air dry before returning to your closet. Be sure to always hang leather items to prevent creasing and keep away from heat and sunlight. To clean, wipe with a cloth or brush. For cleaning please bring to a professional leather cleaner.

Cashmere

You can machine wash cashmere on a delicate, cold water cycle. Make sure to turn your garment inside out and place inside a mesh laundry bag to preserve softness of fabric. Hang to dry.

Shearling

Mix a solution of one quart warm water and 1/2 teaspoon of a wool wash or Castile soap. Dip a cloth in the solution, and wring to remove excess water until it is damp. Start from the top of the garment and wipe down the soft surface to remove and dirt. Continue to rinse the cloth as to not transfer any stains. For more serious stains please consult a professional cleaner.

Suede

For a minor spot: rub a suede block on the stain and use a suede brush that contains both rubber and brass bristles. Be sure to gently brush in the direction of the grain to prevent damage. When removing wet stains, be sure to wait for the mark to fully dry before attempting to remove. For more serious stains please consult a professional cleaner.

Wool

Wool can be washed on a delicate, low spin, cold water cycle. It’s best to turn your garment inside out and place in a mesh laundry bag to prevent your garment from tearing during the wash. You can add a few tablespoons of white vinegar to your load to help neutralize any orders. Always air dry wool to avoid shrinkage- either laying flat on a towel or hang drying.

Linen

Linen fibers are delicate and depending what your material tag reads, can be washed in lukewarm water on a delicate cycle in your washing machine or hand washed. If washed with other items, ensure they’re a similar color or else fabric colors may bleed. Always hang dry linen. Vinegar and baking soda is suggested to treat stains before washing. Blot the stain with your treatment prior to washing.

Sequin

To remove odors or general dust/grime, fill a tub or with lukewarm water and add in a few drops of detergent. Add in your sequined item of clothing and swirl them gently in the water before letting soak for about five minutes. Remove and rinse with cold water until all of the soap is gone. If there is a specific stain, you can spot-treat it with a gentle stain remover prior to putting it in the tub. Dab (do not rub) the area with the stain to avoid damaging the threads that affix the sequins to the fabric. Remove from the water, and hold the garment above a sink or tub and let drip. Do not wring or twist. Lay flat on a towel to dry.

Silk

Hand washing is always the best way to go. To hand wash: fill your sink or basin with cool water and pour in a few drops of gentle detergent. Soak the piece of clothing for 3 minutes, and then agitate to release dirt. Rinse with cold water until the water runs clear, and then use a towel to soak up any access water. Hang dry. If using a machine, we recommend washing silk in a mesh bag. Place your mesh bag in your washing machine and wash on the delicate setting. Hang dry.

Polyester

Polyester fabrics are sensitive to heat. Avoid washing in hot or warm water. Cold water wash and low heat drying is the best option for polyester. Polyester can be pre-treated with a stain remover or blotted with detergent. Allow your garment to sit at least 10 minutes before washing.

Synthetic Blend

Natural fabrics blended with synthetic materials e.g. rayon, polyester, nylon are sensitive to heat. Avoid washing in hot or warm water. Cold water wash and hang dry or low-heat dryer is the best option for synthetics. They can be pre-treated with a stain remover or blotted with detergent. Allow your garment to sit at least 10 minutes before washing.

Dry Clean Only

Please bring to a dry cleaner and do not attempt washing at home.

Velvet

Velvet can be washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with similar colors. It is best to hang or flat lay to dry. You can steam your garment on a low heat setting to remove wrinkles.

OTHER

Feathers and embellishments are delicate features of your garment. We suggest dry cleaning to avoid damaging any of these components on your vintage piece.
